Bio:

Kate Cahill is the owner and primary artist of Kate Cahill fine art & decorative painting. She lives w/ her wonderful husband and 3 fabulous cats, in an old house along the Hudson River She trained in painting and design at Rochester Institute of Technology and Boston School of the Museum of Fine Arts. 

While attending art school, Cahill worked on a major renovation of the Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Hope in Boston,where she learned the decorative art techniques of stenciling, gilding (gold leaf) and painting and fresco restoration. 

After graduating, Cahill further developed her interest in restoration and historic preservation while working on several projects for the National Park Service, including Theodore Roosevelt’s “Sagamore Hill” estate in Oyster Bay,Long Island. Cahill has also studied wood graining and marbleizing w/ at the Finishing School on Long Island and at the Pierre Finkelstein Institute in Manhattan. She has also studied scenic art painting at the Studio and Forum in Newburgh NY. 

Since 1997 Kate Cahill has been working as a professional decorative painter striving to exceed the expectations of commercial and residential clients in the greater New York area.
